Hello and Welcome to GT-Turbo-Spares.

I would like to take this opportunity to introduce ourselves.

Here at GT-Turbo-Spares there are three key elements (in no particular order).

(Parts).

I have been a Renault 5 GT Turbo enthusiast for 17+ years.  Having owned over 22 of these cars and learnt the hard way! I have a huge knowledge of their general faults and the parts required to keep these cars on the road.  Over the past 17 + years I have built up a considerable list of contacts for sourcing parts both in the UK and Overseas.  With the standard reply from Renault being “Sorry no longer available”. This list of contacts has been a life line for many Renault 5 GT Turbo enthusiasts, whether it is a full restoration or general servicing.

A little on my cars!

I currently own a Tungy Grey J reg completely factory standard.  This car has been dry stored since 1998 and is rarely used.  Locked away I also have a factory standard Black Phase I and Silver Phase II.  As for project cars I have a White Phase I Renault 5 GT Turbo with a Clio Williams turbo charged engine.  An RS Turbo Van with a Wizard of NOS Anti Lag System.  My current build is a 1964 Anglia 105e powered by a 2.0L DOHC RS Cosworth Engine and Nissan 200SX Rear End.

(Spanners & Tuning).

I am a qualified level 3 vehicle technician, completing many advanced system courses to achieve master technician status in the PSA group [Peugeot/Citroen] including auto electrician qualifications and VOSA approved MOT tester ticket.
I personally have 15+ years experience of owning / keeping alive Renault 5 GT Turbos and Renault 5 Gordinis.

A little on my cars!

My Tungy Renault 5 GT Turbo which I have owned for just over 6yrs.  I am now on my 3rd engine through development not blow ups! The 4th intercooler & cooling system set up.  My 3rd suspension / steering set up through development with ride height and geometry changes. I have tested several different brake system set ups, including the making of new brake lines and fuel lines.  A full dash board wiring loom overhaul, this modification allows much easier dash removal / refit. Full interior repair / tidy / clean up keep. Modified engine wiring loom arrangements, ending with a vastly modified loom, looking like an OE fit from the Renault factory.

Restoration to My Tungy:- a weeks’ worth of welding to the floor pan, inner and outer sills, all the bumper mounts, inner arches, including a considerable amount chassis seam welding for good rigidity and handling. To finish the job the underside and inners have been treated to prevent future corrosion.

 ( Bodywork & Restoration ).

I started my colourful career as a panel beater / painter at the age of 17.  I started at the bottom and worked my way up through the ranks. I now have 15 years practical experience under my belt ranging from accident repair & alloy wheel refurbishing to full restoration work and from managing a large body shop for eight years to owning my own company.

A little on my cars!

I have been a Renault 5 GT Turbo enthusiast for 12+ years.  I purchased my first Renault 5 GT Turbo in 1996.  It was a factory standard Silver Phase II.  I owned this car for five years and it was kept standard and unmodified as a clean OE example.   I currently own a Tungy Grey Phase II Renault 5 GT Turbo.  This car has a few subtle mods, such as a Group N Clutch, Lighten & Balanced Flywheel, Soft Pedal Conversion, Stainless Steel Exhaust System, Induction Kit, Rejetted Carb and Custom Painted Alloy Wheels.  The body work has also undergone a complete restoration.

We all own, run and develop our own Renault 5 GT Turbo.   Between the us we can call upon over 40+ years of knowledge and experience.  The passion for these cars grows stronger by the day!
